Agriculture is not only an education but also it is the tradition and backbone of our country. The contribution of Agriculture sector towards GDP in 2022 is 18.8%.
Since 10 year it has been seen that students from India are showing high interest to the agriculture subject and want to pursue their career in this sector. Let us discuss in detail about the Scope & Career In Agriculture.
Education:-
Diploma in Agriculture :- Students after completion of class 10 can enrol in Diploma agriculture which is 2 years of course. There are many Government and private universities are there who are inviting the aspirants through their entrance and on the basis of board score.
B.Sc/B.tech Agriculture:– Students passed out 12th science with Biology paper need to apply ICAR or other state agricultural university exam. On the basis of the rank they will be selected. Basically it is 4 year course.
M.Sc Agriculture:- Students who have successfully completed BSC. AGRICULTURE Can Study by clearing it ICAR AND other state board universities. It is 2 years course.
PhD Agriculture– Those who have completed M.Sc. successfully and want to pursue in research field can join by applying Net entrance.
Scope & Career In Agriculture:-
After passing out of the B.Sc Agriculture, a student is eligible to apply all kind of Government entrance. The student need to clear all semester without backlog.
- AAO- Assistant Agriculture officer – a dream job for all agriculture aspirants. Several state board covering this exam under the state public service commission, where a good range of salary starts.
The other Government job which are suitable for agriculture graduates students such as-
- Assistant Horticulture officer– Group B – conducted by every state government. The average salary ranges from 3.6 to 4.2 lakh per annum.
- Assistant soil conservation officer– Group B. The average annual salary is 3.6 to 4.2 lakh.
- Agricultural supervisor.
- Soil conservation worker– Group C
Students who are interested in banking sector and want their career to start as banker can join
- Agriculture Field Officer(AFO)– Conducted by IBPS every year- It will be AFO post in bank. The average annual salary is 6.2 to 6.8 lakh.
- NABARD grade A- conducted by NABARD. The average salary ranges from 6.5 to 7.2 lakh per annum.
- Other banks also are there who are inviting the students for AFO post.
Besides these students can join different- NGO as a Subject matter specialist /Agriculture expert Position. These jobs are publishing throughout the year in different districts. Some of the reputed NGOs are- PRADAN, WASAN, and SEWAK etc. The average salary starts is 2.4 lakh per annum.
Private Opportunities:-
Students who want to join private sector can apply for the role junior agronomist, Quality control officer, Sales Head, marketing job in different pesticide and Fertilizer Company in order to attain a good package. The average earning is 3.6 to 5.4 lakh per annum
Thus the Opportunity is not only limited to the above list but also more than this.
- Students from North India are doing the start up in agriculture Sector, making the farms in their own and become self-dependent. It is a great way to start Ur journey and financially becoming stronger.
- Students can join different research field in – MSC or PhD in Agronomy, Entomology, Pathology, and Bio-technology as a junior scientist/senior scientist.
- In modern time students are using the technology at best, some students are creating the YouTube channel and study channel also doing the Blogging and covering the story of farmer and uploading in social media platform from which they are earning a fair amount.
